Market growth due to the quality of services and products. Good dynamics. Working with hotels in these countries I understand why they are in demand.
April 04-05, 2019 in Tallinn was held a conference “New Baltic Hospitality Forum” with the participation of representatives of leading hotel operators, experts and experts mainly from the Baltic and Scandinavian countries. The weather was just amazing: 17 degrees and the sun. And it is at the beginning of April! In combination with the excellent organization of the event and interesting reports, the mood of the two days was just great.
From 2016 to 2018, the number of tourists staying in hotels in Estonia increased annually by about 100,000 people per year. The dynamics of employment in hotels of 3 Baltic capitals from 2016 to 2018 is given in the following sequence: in Tallinn - growth from 56 to 70.5%, in Riga - growth from 56 to 70.3%, in Vilnius there has been a slight decline from 72.55 to 67.05%. But the indicator of the average cost of the sold room per day (ADR) from 2016 to 2018 in all 3 capitals was marked by growth: in Tallinn - from 70 to 84 euro; in Riga - from 62 to 70 euro; in Vilnius - from 60 to 68 euro.
According to experts such as Christie& Co predicted the extension of the major hotel operators in the Baltic States in 2018 -2020 years will increase at the following groups in proportion to the capitals of the Baltic countries: Vilnius – Design Hotels, Marriott, Accor, Hilton Worldwide, Radisson Hotel Group– an increase of 41%, Tallinn - Citybox, Accor, Hestia Hotel Group– an increase of 14.7 % , Riga – Mogotel, Radisson Hotel Group, Hilton Worldwide– an increase of 14.5%.
This increase was made possible in part due to the forecast increase in demand for hotel employment – cites statistics expert Agency JLL – Tatiana Weller. According to her, in the period from 2019 to 2026, the increase in demand for employment of hotels will be from 2 to 5.2 % annually.
However, interestingly, the tour flow from Russia continues to decline. At the same time, domestic tourism is growing. No wonder. Communicating with companies that are engaged in Spa equipment, I can confidently say that Estonia is one of the first places in the EU in terms of the speed of development of SPA theme in hotels and SPA services per capita. They have found their niche and confidently seeks to take first place in it.
